What's a great mobile app worth? How about $1 million? That's what salesforce.com (CRM -0.18%) is planning to pay tha developers of the best new moible app for its platform, Fool contributor Tim Beyers says in the following video.
Only to those who attend the company's Dreamforce customer and developer conference are eligible to compete. The app which scores best in four categories -- innovation, business value, user experience, and use of Salesforce's platform -- will take home the big prize, though Salesforce also plans payouts for the second to fifth place finishers.
Winning anything would be a huge accomplishment. PCWorld pegs this year's total Dreamforce attendance at around 120,000 online and in person, with 20,000 developers participating. That's the sort of crowd you expect for a major enterprise software supplier such as Microsoft, Oracle, or SAP. Salesforce deserves to be considered in the same rank, Tim says.
