Keeping you informed is one of our goals at The Motley Fool. So just in case you missed it, here's a recap of what happened during the week of Nov. 13-17 in the retail sector, as reported from our best and brightest.

Monday
The big week started off as a company that's been wiping out finally caught a wave. After its earnings release, Pacific Sunwear (NASDAQ:PSUN) rose 7.5% on some renewed enthusiasm for its turnaround, based on changes being made at its stores and inventory-management improvements. Tuesday
My buddy Seth Jayson has been a fan of American Eagle Outfitters (NASDAQ:AEOS) for some time now. We talked about it many times during our bike rides into work. While he's calling the company a sandbagger for delivering another analyst-estimate-topping performance, I'm kicking myself for not heeding his words; in fact, I argued against "the eagle" many times. Yes, even the retail editor makes blunders once in a while.

While American Eagle's outpeformance is becoming a "boring" trend, Movie Gallery (NASDAQ:MOVI) seems to have surprised a few people, including our own Rick Munarriz. But Rick points out that this bricks-and-mortar rental chain still faces some challenges going forward.

Wednesday
Not only is Seth a fast cyclist, but I recently learned that he's also a shaman. You think you know a guy... Seth got his rain-dance wish as Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE:ANF) took a tumble after releasing earnings this week. Are you wondering why Seth was wishing the stock price would go down? Learn all about his twisted value-investing reasons.

Nate Parmelee also loves to see stock prices falling, and he's been watching shares of club warehouse retailer BJ's Wholesale Club (NYSE:BJ) intently for a little while now. Does he think it's a bargain yet? He can tell you better than I can.

Thursday
Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS) has been busy this year, opening stores and integrating its acquisition of Galyan's. This week was par for the course, so to speak. In addition to its earnings release (covered here by Ryan Fuhrmann), the company decided to make another acquisition by buying out Golf Galaxy (NASDAQ:GGXY). Will this one work out as well as the Galyan's purchase? Stephen Ellis sheds some crocodile tears and gives his thoughts.
