Over on CAPS, 710 of the 725 members who have rated Denbury -- or 98% -- believe the stock will outperform the S&P 500 going forward. These bulls include StanTheMan22 and maudipearl, both of whom are ranked in the top 20% of our community.
In March, StanTheMan22 tapped Denbury as an interesting way to cash in on carbon: "New CO2 pipeline underway to compliment the tertiary process which squeezes out more energy from wells abandoned by the big guys. a great niche"
In a pitch from two weeks later, maudipearl injects a bit more detail into the outperform case:
Denbury has recently acquired assets and are making CO2 flooding the largest part of its business. These CO2 reserves are found in structural traps in the Haynesville, Buckner, and other formations. CO2 injection is one of the most efficient recovery methods for producing crude oil. Denbury operates major fields in Mississippi and owns the majority of the working interests. Also operates in East Texas and Louisiana.
