Monday
The new trading week kicks off with the giant toymaker that hasn't been rocked by recall scandals: Hasbro (NYSE: HAS). Wall Street is looking for earnings to soar 32% higher to $0.81 a share. If that sounds ambitious even for a quarter that fell during the holiday season, consider that Hasbro has blown past analyst profit targets in each of the past three quarters.

Tuesday
Another company that comes on strong over the holidays -- Blue Nile (Nasdaq: NILE) -- reports on Tuesday. Between the seasonal jewelry gifts and the allure of a holiday marriage proposal, Blue Nile's strength in moving high-end diamond engagement rings typically serves it well this time of year. The pros are looking for earnings to chime in 26% higher.

Blue Nile knows a thing or two about sparkling. Since going public four years ago, Blue Nile has topped Wall Street's expectations in all but one quarter.

Wednesday
China's leading search engine checks in on Wednesday. Baidu.com (Nasdaq: BIDU) has been a speedster since going public three years ago. I guess that's how it goes when you happen to be most popular search engine -- by far -- in the world's most populous nation. The market is looking for quarterly profits to surge 58% higher to $0.71 a share.

After watching the stateside bellwethers come up short lately, don't expect Baidu to follow suit. China's economy is still growing strong, and expectations for the country's online prospects are only strengthening as we close in this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing.

Thursday
Build-A-Bear Workshop (NYSE: BBW) lets out its quarterly growl on Thursday. Did the stuffed animal retailer intentionally pick Valentine's Day to spill the beans? Probably not, but the market's still waiting to see whether romance is in the air at the company. It's been ages since the company announced plans to explore "strategic alternatives." OK, it's been on the block only since this past summer, but let's see what kind of update the company provides on Thursday.

Friday
It's time to feel young and hip heading into the weekend with Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF) reporting. The trendy mall retailer will post its holiday-spiked financials on Friday. Let's hope the company will also talk a bit about its new and edgy lingerie concept.

Until next week, I remain,
