Games and groceries will color in the week that lies ahead.

Monday
Korn/Ferry
(NYSE: KFY) kicks off springtime's final trading week with its earnings release. The executive recruiter may have stumbled into a few quarters of red ink during the darkest recessionary stretches, but it's back in black these days. Analysts see Korn/Ferry earning $0.13 a share on Monday, reversing a year-ago loss.

Tuesday
Diehard gamers have had Tuesday circled on their calendars for months. It's the day that the annual E3 show launches in Los Angeles. E3 stands for "Electronic Entertainment Expo," and the video-game industry can use the excitement. Sales in the sector have generally been sluggish for more than a year.

Best Buy (NYSE: BBY), no stranger to diehard gamers, reports its quarterly results on Tuesday. The superstore is a great gauge across several categories in consumer electronics. Wall Street sees reasonable bottom-line growth, but what are shoppers buying these days? Tune in on Tuesday for the answer.

Wednesday
IHS
(NYSE: IHS) checks in with its quarterly report on Wednesday afternoon. Wall Street is banking on the industrial information specialist to grow its earnings by 16% to $0.74 a share for its fiscal-second quarter.

Thursday
Actuant
(NYSE: ATU) and SMART Modular (Nasdaq: SMOD) are among the companies stepping up to the earnings podium on Thursday. Analysts see both companies posting healthy earnings growth year over year.

Friday
The toys are back in town, as Disney's (NYSE: DIS) Toy Story 3 hits theaters on Friday. Investors may be nervous, given the way that DreamWorks Animation (NYSE: DWA) shares were slammed after soft box-office receipts for Shrek Forever After last month, but it's not necessarily a bad omen for the Pixar theatrical franchise that started it all.

"Just because the moviegoing public seems to have chased Shrek back into the swamp, Disney shareholders shouldn't automatically assume that they'll toss Woody and Buzz into the garage-sale bin as well," our own Nathan Alderman suggests, given Pixar's track record since the original Toy Story debuted 15 years ago.

It's hard to bet against Buzz and Woody.

Until next week, I remain,

Rick Munarriz
