What's better than momentum? Mo' momentum.
Let's take a closer look at five of this past week's biggest scorchers.
Company | March 2 | Weekly Gain | My Watchlist |
---|---|---|---|
Omeros (Nasdaq: OMER) | $7.89 | 26% | Add |
BlueLinx Holdings (NYSE: BXC) | $2.54 | 23% | Add |
Pegasystems (Nasdaq: PEGA) | $35.82 | 23% | Add |
Cheniere Energy (AMEX: LNG) | $16.67 | 19% | Add |
Youku (NYSE: YOKU) | $26.02 | 16% | Add |

Omeros was one of Wall Street's biggest winners, as the biopharmaceutical company revealed that is has identified compounds that functionally interact with several orphan G protein-coupled receptors.
BlueLinx was the second-biggest gainer on the New York Stock Exchange. It's been a couple of weeks since the building products distributor posted a narrower quarterly deficit, but encouraging news out of the home improvement companies that reported earnings earlier in the week inspired confidence in related companies.
Pegasystems grew wings after posting better-than-expected quarterly results. Adjusted earnings more than doubled on a 30% surge in revenue. The enterprise software company also issued encouraging guidance.
Cheniere climbed after a subsidiary received meaty financing to build a gas-liquefaction plant in Louisiana. The $2 billion private equity infusion should silence the skeptics.
Finally, Youku had a strong week despite a poorly received report out of the Chinese video website's nearest publicly traded rival. The niche leader itself reports next week.
