Microsoft Acquires MetricsHub

The IT leader buys the cloud monitoring company, and offers its solution to existing customers.

In a recent corporate blog, Microsoft (MSFT 1.57%) vice president of strategy and business development, Bob Kelly, announced the acquisition of privately held MetricsHub, a cloud analytics, monitoring, and automation company.

MetricsHub is a participant in Microsoft's Accelerator initiative, an intensive three-month immersion program for 10 cloud-related start-up companies. The Accelerator program is the result of the combined efforts of Microsoft and TechStars to support innovative cloud solutions.

A pre-release version of MetricsHub tools and solutions are immediately available for existing Microsoft Windows Azure customers. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Tim spends much of his day writing articles and content for The Fool and, not surprisingly, loves it! His first book, The Lives of Stupid People Volume 1 (The next, great American novel as you can tell from the title), was published in 2011, along with a couple award-winning short stories.
