AT&T (T 1.10%) is providing more opportunities for customers to grab one of Amazon.com's (AMZN -2.56%) popular Kindle tablets. This coming Friday, April 5, the telecom operator will begin retailing the Fire HD 8.9" 32GB model in a number of its outlets. This is one of the high-end models in Amazon's current generation of Kindles. Among numerous other features, it boasts 4G connectivity.

AT&T's Kindle will sell for $399, like it does on Amazon. Discounts up to $150 will be available for a limited time to customers who sign up for a two-year data plan to connect the device. In the press release announcing the news, the company did not specify how limited that time would be.
