EPS came in at $1.40. The 20 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $1.37 per share. GAAP EPS of $1.40 for Q4 were 1.4% higher than the prior-year quarter's $1.38 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 59.1%, 130 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 23.5%, 60 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 14.5%, 50 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $856.9 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.52.
