EPS came in at $1.56. The 19 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $1.52 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $1.56 for Q1 were 3.1% lower than the prior-year quarter's $1.61 per share. GAAP EPS of $3.57 for Q1 were 127% higher than the prior-year quarter's $1.57 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 32.3%, 110 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 18.0%, 50 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 31.9%, much better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
