EPS came in at $0.54. The 16 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.55 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.54 for Q1 were 6.9% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.58 per share. (The prior-year quarter included $0.01 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.) GAAP EPS of $0.38 for Q1 were 58% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.24 per share. For the quarter, gross margin was 80.4%, 170 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 30.1%, 410 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 20.4%, 830 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $14.38 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.59.
