Werner Keeps Dividend Steady at a Nickel

Trucking company has paid dividends since 1987 and special dividends since 2008.

Transportation and logistics specialist Werner Enterprises (WERN +1.38%) announced this morning its second-quarter dividend of $0.05 per share, the same rate it's paid since 2007.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on July 16 to the holders of record at the close of business on July 1. The trucking company has made quarterly payouts to investors since 1987. It paid a special dividend of $1.50 per share in December 2012 and has declared special cash dividends since 2008.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $0.20-per-share annual dividend, yielding 0.8% based on the closing price of Werner Enterprises' stock on June 6.
