United Technologies (UTX +0.70%) is continuing its decades-old tradition of paying regular quarterly dividends. The company this week declared its latest common stock disbursement of $0.535 per share to be paid Sept. 10 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 16.
That amount matches each of the firm's four preceding distributions, the most recent of which was handed out earlier this week. Prior to that, United Technologies distributed $0.48 per share.
In the press release announcing the move, the company said it has paid such disbursements every year dating back to 1936. The just-declared dividend annualizes to $2.14 per share, which yields 2.3% at United Technologies' most recent closing stock price of $92.68.
