Earlier this month Groupon (GRPN -9.62%) launched Reserve -- a way for users to book dinner reservations at discounted prices -- and today the company launched a mobile version of the feature in its iPhone app.

The new addition to the Groupon app allows users to make restaurant reservations in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., and receive up to 40% off the dinner check. The company said Groupon Reserve for mobile doesn't require users to pre-pay or use a voucher to receive the discount.

Ben McKean, general manager of Groupon Reserve reservations, said in a press release, "Reserve on mobile gives our customers even more options for great things to do wherever they are."

The company said it plans to release iPad and Android versions of Groupon Reserve in the future, as well as bring the service to more U.S. cities and international markets. Groupon hasn't specified when those additional app updates or markets would be available.
