Picture maker Shutterfly (SFLY +0.00%) has a new chief operating officer.
The Redwood City, Calif.-based digital photo service leader announced today that it promoted Dan McCormick, a nine-year veteran of the company, to senior vice president and chief operating officer after having shepherded various divisions such as Shutterfly, Tiny Prints, Wedding Paper Divas, and Treat. He has also led the integration of Kodak Gallery, MyPublisher, Penguin Digital, Photoccino, and ThisLife.
Noting McCormick's extensive experience in the field, Shutterfly President and CEO Jeffrey Housenbold said, "Dan is a seasoned leader and proven operator who has been my partner in growing Shutterfly into a family of premium lifestyle brands. In his new role, he will scale and drive internal cross-functional teams and initiatives that are critical to expanding our market leading position and delivering innovative high quality products and services to our tens of millions of users."
Prior to joining Shutterfly, McCormick was director of product marketing at Network Appliance, where he also held numerous senior management positions, and prior to that he served as a senior consultant at Accenture.
Upon joining Shutterfly, McCormick also served as senior vice president and general manager of products and services, vice president and general manager of products and services, and vice president of strategy and corporate development at the company.
McCormick earned his MBA from Harvard University and his BS degree from Babson College.
