Government contractor VSE (VSEC -1.10%) announced today that it won two firm fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts worth a combined $11.8 million to refurbish 170 40-ton payload, three-axle medium heavy equipment transporters semitrailers and 230 5,000-gallon fuel-dispensing semitrailers for the U.S. Marine Corps.

VSE will restore the semitrailers to a serviceable and issuable condition in appearance, performance, and life expectancy, work that will be performed in multiple locations across the country.

"We are proud to support the USMC in the rebuild of these semitrailers," VSE Federal Group President Donnelle Moten said. "We will apply the expertise, experience, level of detailed knowledge, and resources needed to restore these semitrailers to the best possible condition. VSE's goal for this effort is to ensure that our nation's first line of defense is battle-ready and fully equipped."

Both contracts have a period of performance that includes a one-year base and four one-year options
