Natural gas prices have recovered since hitting record lows in 2012, but the industry is forever transformed. Currently, only low-cost producers can operate in the green, while the rest of the industry is either losing money or moving into oil and liquids plays. While natural gas prices are still historically low, Cabot Oil & Gas (CTRA 0.07%) and EQT Corp. (EQT 2.77%) proved they could reward investors in today's low-price environment ,as both companies increased total production while lowering operating costs this past quarter.
