Key Trends for 3 Big Stocks

Travelers Companies was one of the first public insurers to report third-quarter earnings, so as investors wait for fan-favorites American International Group and Markel to report, we can find some underlying trends to follow.

As earnings season continues, more and more insurers are set to report their third-quarter results. With Travelers Companies (TRV 1.97%) as one of the first to do so, it's easy for investors to glean some larger marketwide trends from its results. Though each company will have specific challenges ahead of it, American International Group (AIG 1.08%) and Markel (MKL 1.63%) will likely be facing similar pressures seen in Travelers' report.
