Apple (AAPL -0.81%) has warned of supply constraints around its new iPad Mini with Retina display. Apple suddenly launched the device last week, but with limited availability, and local buyers had to reserve inventory through Apple's Personal Pickup service. There are now a few signs that Apple's supply situation with the Retina Mini may not be that bad.
Shipping times have slipped modestly, but new orders ship in five to 10 business days. That's better than how the supply situation looked for the iPhone 5s, which quickly saw quoted shipping times of several weeks. Apple has also begun selling the Retina Mini to walk-in customers, further suggesting that its production is ramping up nicely. Perhaps those rumors that Apple would tap Samsung for displays were true after all. This quarter, Apple's three most important products appear to be keeping up with demand, which bodes well for Apple's results over the busy holiday shopping season.
