It's no overstatement to say that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) could use a new growth driver or two, especially in the wake of the company's disappointing earnings report last month.
The good news for Apple investors is that CEO Tim Cook is on the record as saying that Apple will launch at least one new product line in the year ahead. The bad news is that it's anyone's guess as to exactly what that product will be.
Apple's next game changer
In all likelihood, Apple's next major product will either be the long-rumored next gen Apple TV or the oft-discussed iWatch, although other products certainly aren't out of the question, either.
However, in the case of the iWatch, battery life has proven to be a possible hinderance in enabling Apple's smartwatch to reaching its full potential. However, those eagerly awaiting an Apple iWatch got a major shot in the arm on the strength of a number of reports discussing the various innovations with which Apple is experimenting in order to make the iWatch a truly viable smart device.
