Which alcoholic beverage company should investors put their money behind?

In this edition of The Motley Fool's "Ask a Fool" series, Motley Fool analysts Jason Moser and Brendan Mathews take a question from a reader who asks, "Jason, do you like Boston Beer (SAM 1.39%) better than Diageo (DEO 1.15%)?"

Jason explains that while Boston Beer and Diageo are both very different companies in scale, both present compelling qualities that should attract investors. Boston Beer, with its smaller market cap and focus on the beer market, is a bit more of a growth story, while Diageo's much larger market cap offers up more global exposure, along with a nice dividend for investors.
