The Motley Fool Referral Program Rules
By participating in The Motley Fool’s referral program (the “Program”) you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:
- Eligibility. The Program is open to current Motley Fool members. Employees of The Motley Fool, LLC (along with its contractors, affiliates and subsidiaries) and their families are not eligible. To be eligible for rewards, another individual must sign up using your unique referral link, and until after any membership fee refund period associated with their subscription, if one exists, has expired.
- Referring a Friend.
- In order to refer someone, you must provide them with your customized referral link (your “Referral Link”). Purchases made without using your Referral Link are not eligible for the Program.
- For purposes of the Program, a “referral” is someone who is: (i) a real person who you have a personal or business relationship with and who you believe may have an interest in signing up for the service; (ii) not already a TMF member; and (iii) has not been previously referred by someone else.
- You can only share your Referral Link directly with someone you have explicitly asked if they would like a referral. You cannot refer any person that has explicitly asked you not to refer or contact them, or sign up anyone using your Referral Link.
- You may not post your Referral Link on any of the message boards on fool.com.
- You may not use your own Referral Link to make a purchase. We reserve the right to disqualify any referral for any reason at any time at our sole discretion.
- Rewards. You can earn rewards if someone uses your Referral Link to subscribe for the first time to Motley Fool Stock Advisor or Motley Fool Epic. You will not receive rewards for subscriptions to other services, or for upgrades to an existing or newly purchased service. You can receive rewards for each new member you refer, up to 5 referrals in total. The Motley Fool reserves the right to substitute the rewards listed with rewards of equal or greater value. Rewards are non-transferrable and not redeemable for cash. All rewards expire one (1) calendar year after they are issued.
- Support & Troubleshooting. Questions about the status of rewards, or any other questions about the Motley Fool's referral program, should be directed to Motley Fool's member services team here: https://www.fool.com/premium/contact.
- Consent. By accepting a reward, you further consent to the use of your name and/or likenesses for purposes of advertising or trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
- General Conditions. Reward recipients may be required to execute and return a Consent and General Release as well as any applicable tax forms prior to receiving a prize. Non-compliance within this time period may result in disqualification and forfeiture of credits. Any income tax liability is the sole responsibility of the reward recipients.
- Conduct. You agree to be bound by these rules. The Motley Fool, in its sole discretion, reserves to disqualify any person it finds to be tampering with, or violating the spirit, intent or terms of the Program of the operation of its website.
- Limitations of Liability. The Motley Fool will not be responsible for late, lost or misdirected email or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur. If for any reason, this Program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort, The Motley Fool may cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Program. Participants agree to release The Motley Fool from any liability resulting from, or related to participation in the Program.
