Stockland engages in the business of real estate. It operates through the following segments: Commercial Property, Residential, Land Lease Communities, Retirement Living, and Other. The Commercial Property segment invests in, develops and manages retail town centres, workplace and logistics properties. The Residential segment delivers a range of masterplanned and mixed use residential communities in growth areas, and townhomes and apartments in general metropolitan areas. The Land lease Communities segment invests in, designs, develops and manages communities for over 50s. The Retirement Living segment invests in, designs, develops, manages and sells communities for over 55s and retirees. The Other segment includes strategic investments and other items which are not able to be classified within any of the other defined segments. The company was founded by Ervin Graf in 1952 and is headquartered in Sydney, Australia.
