Alpha Services & Holdings SA engages in the banking business. It operates through the following segments: Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Asset Management and Insurance, Investment Banking and Treasury, Southern Eastern Europe, and Other. The Retail Banking segment includes all individuals, professionals, small and very small companies operating in Greece and abroad, except from South-Eastern Europe countries. The Corporate Banking segment is composed of all medium-sized and large companies, corporates with international business activities, enterprises which cooperate with the Corporate Banking Division, as well as shipping corporations operating in Greece and abroad except for South Eastern European countries. The Asset Management and Insurance segment deals with a wide range of asset management services offered through Group's private banking units, its subsidiary Alpha Asset Management A.E.D.A.K. as well as the proceeds from the sale and the management of mutual funds. The Investment Banking and Treasury segment refers to stock exchange, advisory and brokerage services related to capital markets, and also investment banking facilities, which are offered either by the Bank or specialized subsidiaries. The Southern Eastern Europe segment represents the Group's subsidiaries, which operate in South Eastern Europe. The Others segment includes the non-financial operations of the Bank, as well as unallocated or non-recurring income and expenses and intersegment transactions. Its products include housing loans, investment products, deposit accounts, cards, consumer loans, private banking, and bancassurance. It also offers car insurance and web banking. The company was founded by John F. Costopoulos in 1879 and is headquartered in Athens, Greece.
