In today's video, I look at recent news and fundamentals for Vuzix (VUZI -2.96%) and Coursera (COUR -0.90%). Below I share a few highlights from the video.

  1. Coursera and Vuzix are growing at impressive levels. Coursera reported 64% year-over-year (YOY) revenue growth, and Vuzix reported 150% YOY smart glasses sales growth for the first quarter of 2021.
  2. The online education and augmented reality market are still in the early stages, so both companies are not profitable. An investor should note that Vuzix and Coursera have strong balance sheets with substantial cash and short-term investments and no debt.
  3. The product presence of Vuzix smart glasses is continuing to expand into the telemedicine market. One of the driving forces is that other companies are using the hardware provided by Vuzix and are branching into new surgical applications.
