- During Roku's 2021 second-quarter earnings report, the company reported 81% year-over-year revenue growth, driven by 28% active-accounts growth and 19% streaming hours growth. Roku's original content seems to be a success, as one out of every three Roku users streamed a Roku original in this most recent quarter.
- Draftkings has offered to purchase Entain. The offer has yet to be approved, but if it is, it could provide strong acceleration in products Draftkings offers. Both Entain and Draftkings are focusing on content creation and trending digital markets to acquire new customers. Draftkings has done it with its recent marketplace, a place to buy and sell digital sports collectibles, and Entain is focusing on creating free-to-play games and experiences for its users.
- Shopify continues to roll out new features. In late August, Shopify teamed up with TikTok to allow its vendors to add a shopping tab on their TikTok profile. Roku plans to roll out an app that will enable Shopify merchants to do advertisement campaigns on Roku.
