During last month's San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro (NYSE: HAS) Chief Marketing Officer John Frascotti generously gave his time to talk on camera about the toy maker's major brands. In this video, he talks Transformers.

When Frascotti says autobot Bumblebee has a big 12 months ahead, he isn't kidding. Here are three things that will occupy the Camaro-cum-robot warrior:

  • Transformers: Prime, a new animated series that should test the ability of Hasbro's TV studio to produce its own work. The Hub TV channel is a joint venture with Discovery Communications (Nasdaq: DISCA).
  • A new video game, War for Cybertron, built by High Moon Studios. Video games were ever-present at Comic-Con, with Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq: ATVI), South Korea's NCSoft, and Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: ERTS) all touting new products during the event.
  • The third Transformers movie, due out next July and again directed by Michael Bay. The first two have already led to more than $1 billion in merchandising sales, Frascotti said.

It's a busy time, but as Frascotti puts it, "reimaging the brand" in these and other ways could lead to unimaginable profits.
