JPMorgan Chase's (JPM 0.49%) chief financial officer, Douglas Braunstein, may leave his post, according to media reports citing unnamed sources. Those sources say that he may take another position at the firm, although it is unclear which position and at what point that transition might occur.

An email from The Motley Fool seeking comment from Braunstein yesterday afternoon was forwarded to JPMorgan's press office, which said: "We're not commenting on rumors related to our CFO, and he is hosting our earnings call with analysts tomorrow morning."

The rumors about Braunstein come on the heels of a series of managerial changes at the bank following a controversial $5.8 billion loss due to derivatives positions taken by employees in its London office.
