After ditching Google (GOOGL 0.33%) Maps after it was featured in the iPhone for years, the iPhone maker has faced immense user backlash. Google reportedly continues to work on a new maps app for iOS, but doesn't have confidence that Apple will want to approve it. The last thing Apple wants is for users to drop its own app after it spent so much time and money developing it, but how long can it justifiably block the app without facing additional criticism?
