After the one-two punch from Superstorm Sandy and the nor'easter that ripped through the Northeast U.S. last week, several refineries in the area are still without power, which means losses of production in the range of hundreds of thousands of barrels a day. That, of course, trickles down to the consumer, as shortages at the pump cause even more misery in an area already under a lot of hardship. In this video, Motley Fool energy analyst Taylor Muckerman takes us through what these numbers mean, and how long they project these refineries to be offline.
