Amazon.com (AMZN -1.65%) has rolled out a new service for children available through the latest iterations of its Kindle Fire tablets, the company announced in a press release. Called "Kindle FreeTime Unlimited," the service provides access to books, games, apps, films, and TV shows for a monthly fee.
Kindle Free Time Unlimited costs $2.99 monthly per child or $6.99 per family for those who are members of the company's Prime service. Those who aren't Prime members can access the service for $4.99 and $9.99, respectively.
The service is an optional extension to the existing FreeTime, a feature on the Kindle Fires that allows parents to manage their children's use of the tablets.
