No. 2 domestic wireless carrier AT&T (T 1.17%) today announced official pricing and availability of the HTC One.

The flagship smartphone will be priced at $199.99 for a 32 GB model on contract, with pre-orders beginning April 4. Retail availability and launch will be on April 19. AT&T will exclusively offer a 64 GB model for $299.99 on contract. Both those prices come hooked to a two-year contract.

The high-end Google Android device will compete directly with Samsung's new Galaxy S4, which AT&T recently priced at $250 on contract. The Galaxy S4 begins pre-orders April 16, meaning that the HTC One will barely beat it to market as well as undercut the Galaxy S4 on price.

HTC's turnaround is hinged on the success of the One.
