The power company matches its previous payout.

AES (AES 1.96%) is keeping in line with its recent shareholder payouts. The company has declared a new dividend of $0.04 per share of its common stock. This will be paid on May 15 to shareholders of record as of May 1. That amount matches the previous two disbursements, the most recent of which was handed down at the end of January.

AES does not have a long tradition of paying dividends. This is only the third distribution the company has made.

The current dividend annualizes to $0.16 per share, which yields 1.2% at AES' most recent closing stock price of $12.87.
