Nokia launches a new flagship on Verizon's network.

After months of speculation, No. 1 wireless carrier Verizon (VZ 0.36%) Wireless announced today that the Nokia (NOK 2.00%) Lumia 928 is exclusively coming to its network next week. The flagship device is similar to the Lumia 920 that launched as an AT&T exclusive late last year.

The Lumia 928 will feature a 4.5-inch display and carry an 8.7-megapixel camera. The device will also utilize Nokia's PureView technology and Optical Image Stabilization and have better low-light performance. Microsoft Windows Phone 8 will power the device.

Verizon noted service offerings available, such as Nokia Music, HERE Nokia City Lens, and VZ Navigator. Nokia's new smartphone will be available on May 16 and is priced at $100 on contract after a $50 mail-in rebate.
