Autodesk (ADSK 0.08%) has added a pair of assets aimed at bolstering its offerings in the building information modeling sphere. The company announced it has purchased selected technology offerings from two firms based in the U.K., Bestech Systems and Savoy Computing Services.
From the former, Autodesk acquired assets that include Sam, a software suite that assists with the analysis and design of small- and medium-span bridges. The technology purchased from Savoy includes AutoTrack, an offering Autodesk describes as "a suite of software for vehicle swept path analysis and the design of parking areas and roundabouts."
The terms of the two deals were not made public.
In the press release announcing the news, the company quoted Senior Vice President of Information Modeling and Platform Products Amar Hanspal as saying that after the buys, "Autodesk is now positioned to offer a much more comprehensive portfolio of infrastructure software that will accelerate the adoption of BIM in transportation design."
