L-3 Comms Wins $76 Million in Defense Contracts for Plane, Helo Maintenance

On the final day of its fiscal year, the Department of Defense announced 95 separate defense contracts on Monday, worth $5.526 billion in total. L-3 Communications (LLL) won two of them:

• $65 million: to pay for exercising an option to supply materials and perform "organizational, intermediate, and depot level maintenance" on 36 Navy T-45A and 168 Navy T-45C training aircraft based at Naval Air Station (NAS) Meridian, Miss.; NAS Kingsville, Texas; NAS Pensacola, Fla.; and Patuxent River, Md., through March 2014.
• And $11.1 million: to pay for the exercise of an option to perform helicopter maintenance for the Air Force at Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB), N.M., through Sept. 30, 2014.
