Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) is finally doing what it should have done all along, Fool contributor Tim Beyers says in the following video.
In a recent blog post by engineering manager Hong Ge, the social network said it would update its ad display algorithm to place greater emphasis on user actions. Thus, the theory goes, if you routinely hide an ad, Facebook will stop showing it to you.
Trouble is, Tim says, this is the sort of enhanced feature Facebook should have adopted years ago. What's more, the change speaks to the inherent benefits of Google's (NASDAQ:GOOGL) search-driven model, wherein you only see results related to what you're already seeking.
