The Department of Defense announced 15 new defense contracts worth a combined $675.9 million Friday. Northrop Grumman (NOC 2.84%) won two of them:

  • $65.3 million, as a contract modification to continue "sustainment" work on U.S. Army Vehicle And Dismount Exploitation Radar (VADER) systems (used to track targets on the ground) currently deployed in theater Afghanistan. This contract will now continue through Dec. 31, 2014.
  • $11.8 million, as a contract modification, to provide additional engineering, technical, and other services related to developing products for the Navy's Airborne Electronic Attack Integrated Product Team through July 2014. In particular, Northrop will work on EA-6B Growler flight software.
