Why Is Annaly Capital Management, Inc. Getting Squeezed?

Annaly's rate spread continues to get squeezed.

Shares of Annaly Capital Management (NLY 1.38%) were crushed in 2013 as the mortgage REIT's bond portfolio dropped in valued and its interest rate spread narrowed. Shares are off to a hot start in 2014, but its interest rate spread remains under pressure for a variety of reasons.
