SEATTLE (AP) -- The Boeing Co. said Friday that it has agreed to buy British aviation software maker ETS Aviation to offer its customers a way to manage fuel use.
Boeing did not say how much it is paying for the company.
ETS Aviation is used by more than 120 airlines to track how much fuel they're using, figure out ways to cut down on fuel and save money. Boeing said it will offer ETS Aviation to its aircraft buyers.
"Adding these fuel-efficiency tools enhances the edge we provide customers, helping airlines realize greater operating and environmental efficiencies," Boeing Senior Vice President Stan Deal said in a statement.
Boeing expects the deal to close by June. Employees of ETS Aviation will join Boeing's subsidiary Jeppesen in the U.K.
