Oil prices took investors on a wild ride this week. However, despite enduring the steepest one-day drop in months, three energy stocks actually surged more than double digits this week. According to S&P Capital IQ data, Chesapeake Energy (CHKA.Q), Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE -0.87%), and Legacy Reserves (LGCY) were the biggest energy movers this week.

What's interesting about these three stocks is that their surges were fueled by different reasons. Chesapeake Energy's surge, for example, was more of a relief rally than driven by any real news. Meanwhile, Clean Energy Fuels and Legacy Reserves jumped on company-specific news, but one was driven by deal making, and the other simply by a business update.
