Oil prices took investors on a wild ride this week. However, despite enduring the steepest one-day drop in months, three energy stocks actually surged more than double digits this week. According to S&P Capital IQ data, Chesapeake Energy (NYSE:CHK), Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ:CLNE), and Legacy Reserves (NASDAQ:LGCY) were the biggest energy movers this week.

What's interesting about these three stocks is that their surges were fueled by different reasons. Chesapeake Energy's surge, for example, was more of a relief rally than driven by any real news. Meanwhile, Clean Energy Fuels and Legacy Reserves jumped on company-specific news, but one was driven by deal making, and the other simply by a business update.
