Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 isn't the only iPhone competitor.

If recent history is any indication, Apple (AAPL -0.09%) will unveil its next iPhone in September. The iPhone 6S is expected to resemble its predecessor, but sport improved internals, a better camera, and additional features, most notably Force Touch.

Apple's next smartphone, however, will have to contend with a wave of competition. In recent weeks, Google's (GOOG -0.44%) (GOOGL -0.50%) Android partners have unveiled several new handsets, and more could be on the way.
