On Oct. 26, Silicon Image (NASDAQ:SIMG) released its third-quarter earnings for the period ended Sept. 30, 2006.

  • Q3 revenue increased by 39.9% for a record $78.3 million quarter. This growth was primarily driven by the adoption of High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) by television manufacturers and an increase in computer revenue.
  • Today, more than 450 companies have adopted HDMI technology, up more than 70% from last year.
  • Revenue for Q4 is expected to be about 3%-5% less than Q3, due to "normal seasonality" of the semiconductor consumer market. The stock tumbled on that news.
  • Our Motley Fool CAPS community loves the stock, rating it a solid five stars.
