There are more than a few investors around the world excited about the rise of the Chinese consumer. In fact, McKinsey recently predicted that China's GDP will continue to grow at almost 8% annually, largely on the back of urbanization and growth in private consumption.

The winners and losers at the company level, however, will be determined largely by how well a company can tailor its offerings to Chinese consumers and how well it allocates capital in a rapid growth environment.
