Tell me if you would feel good about investing in a company that:

  • Promises to pay above-market wages to employees.
  • Grows healthy food at scale.
  • Provides that food without using tons of water or toxic chemicals, and
  • Makes a pledge to take care of the communities where it operates.

These are some of the core tenets of conscious capitalism. They are also characteristics of AppHarvest's (APPH) long-term goals. The company wants to redefine the scope of what an agricultural company can accomplish.

Motley Fool contributors Brian Stoffel and Brian Feroldi are both huge fans of this mission. They aren't as sure, however, about the inevitability of AppHarvest's success. In this five-minute video from July 2nd, the two recap an hour-long dive into the company by giving the bull and bear cases.
