Nvidia (NVDA -3.33%) is scheduled to report its earnings after the market closes on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Today's video looks at what investors should keep their eyes on once the earnings report is out. Here are some highlights from the video.

  1. First, is the ARM acquisition still scheduled for the original date, or have regulators' concerns pushed back the company's timeline? Recent reports have stated that U.K. regulators are in talks of blocking the merger.
  2. Second, is there any updated guidance on the chip shortage and how it will impact the upcoming quarters for Nvidia? Nvidia is currently developing its Grace CPU and is scheduled to start sampling in 2022. Investors will want to make sure that there are no significant changes in the timeline for its new products.
  3. Third, has Nvidia's revenue been affected as the world continues to open back up and COVID-19 restrictions ease? The reopening may cause a slowdown in gaming and computer screen time, and this change in user habits can impact Nvidia's gaming segment. The gaming segment provides roughly 50% of total revenue.
