Ford to Take $19.5 Billion Writedown on Underwhelming EV Segment

The announcement is an admission that EV demand is well below what the company had hoped.

Government policies forced Ford to accelerate investments in EVs without consumer demand available to absorb the increased production. With the change in policies from the Trump administration, Ford (F +0.07%) will now rightsize its production based on consumer demand.
