Since my wife and I moved thousands of miles away from home, we have, alas, done an abominable job of sharing photographs of our family. Desperate to stem the weekly howls of grandparental protest, I kicked the tires on some photo-sharing websites. To my surprise, I found that one of them, Shutterfly (NASDAQ:SFLY), is a profitable public company. Before becoming a Fool, I would have bought the stock based on limited information. But now this jester takes close-ups of companies before risking the family "fortune."
