Rumors are afoot that Ameritrade and E*Trade may merge.

Whole Foods (NASDAQ:WFMI) is attempting to acquire Wild OatsXM (NASDAQ:XMSR) is looking to pair up with Sirius (NASDAQ:SIRI). And now it looks like there could be an autumn wedding for two financial giants. According to The Wall Street Journal, TD AMERITRADE (NASDAQ:AMTC) is in merger discussions with E*Trade (NASDAQ:ETFC). Is it a match made in heaven or a marriage made for that other place?
