On Wednesday, the Department of Defense announced it has awarded consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH -0.10%) a contract to provide Resiliency and Human Performance Programs support personnel to work in the U.S. Special Operations Command's (SOCOM) Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) programs.
As described on the website of the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command, POTFF is an initiative aimed at alleviating the strains and pressures of multiple deployments on SOCOM families, which will "identify problems and underlying symptoms, as well as highlight best practices of service specific and Special Operations Forces programs designed to support servicemembers and their families."
The contract has a $475 million "maximum ceiling" value and is classified as an indefinite-delivery/indefinite quanity contract -- meaning there is no guarantee the full amount will ultimately be billed. Indeed, the announcement notes that the minimum Booz might make off of this contract is just $2,500.
The contract will run for no longer than five years.
